Thanks GMG! New BBS CH Black Edition

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
After a couple weeks of waiting I've finally got these on. I'm pretty happy with the look, and I personally think it looks even better in person. Thanks to GMG Racing for hooking these up! With the rate I've been going through wheels, look for a new set next month

For those who want to know, the suspension is the Stasis Motorsport kit. I wasn't sure how much better these could be than the Tracksports that I previously had, but the difference is vast. Those, coupled with the new H-Sport sways, and I've got an Avant that feels just as comfortable in the corners as the 997.

The GMG turbo kit is just about finished, and it should be back at GIAC this week for the final tweaking. I Can't wait for the final results, and the AZ community will probably be the first ones to know about it. Currently I'm pushing 400hp on 91oct... YAY.

I've also added a couple pictures at the bottom of the Tony Thule rack trick for an ultra sleek look... Sorry those took so long to take.

    Anyway, enjoy. -T

Yes, this was Lons old car... Not much left other than body work that he originally did, however.

    hmm, i've got tracksports.

how would you describe them as better? all around? just in the corners? just more comfortable?

oh, and what turbo with the kit?

^or create a thread if you can. as a lot of us would be interested in something like this. obviously.

but is this a GMG specific mod for the tune? if so, i doubt he has too much info on it

Re: Thanks GMG! New BBS CH Black Edition

Thanks for the kind comments guys. It can be a hate-fest sometimes here in the B6 section.

As for the fuel system retro-fit, yes, it was a GMG preformed change, but I brought the idea to them from hearing suggestions from the B6 community. From what GIAC has said so far, its a very worthwhile modification. Unfortunately, yes, this is a GIAC/GMG specific tune that will only be sold through GMG once completed. That doesn't mean that the tune can't be sold anywhere in the country though, you just need to get in contact with GMG specifically to get it.

I'll talk to GMG some more tomorrow about releasing some info on it. It was originally planned to be a complete kit, but as more kits came out, it was apparent that the cost to do something like this would be much, much more than anyone would like to spend; it requires the addition of a built bottom end to handle the power.
However, if any of you are interested in blowing a bunch of money into something like this, GMG I'm sure would be happy to build another. I'm incredibly happy with the results over the old GTRS/Revo kit that previously graced this vehicle.

In the next couple weeks I should have another thread dedicated to the build and specifics of the engine and turbo kits.

Oh, and I love the vanity plate too!

Used to be a hotel manager. the highlight of my day would always be when I'd be talking to somebody out front and some guy would come tearing into the driveway and slamming the roof full of bikes into the portico. It was kind of a game to see who could launch the bikes the furthest off the roof. My hotel was like 3 hours from everywhere so people would arrive, pissed off from the drive.

I never minded the damage. the comedic value was worth it.

I'm kind of curious to know if you're talking 400 chp or 400 awhp... because there's about a 28% difference there, so it's not like we're talking small change here. When/if you get the beast dyno'd be sure to post it up!

That's a mean ass avant! However, to put the reality check in, you're not gonna hit 400 awhp on 91, especially with a GT2871R on a 1.8. With a 2.0 stroker, you'll still come up short BUT you'll be closer .

haha, that's 400 at the crank... believe me, if it was at the wheels it would have been specified. We'll see what happens in the next couple weeks and see how much we can get outta her. If the car stayed how it is right now though, I'd still be super happy. Pulled on a 335i fairly easily the other day which gave me a good smile.

With that said, I'll be selling this car in the next month or so and see if I can't find a B5 S4 avant to play with. This guy Todd Richards lives down the street from me, and taunts me every damn day with his real B5 RS4 Avant... wheeee!

Again, more of the engine and turbo kit info will be released soon.

    Haha. "THIS GUY"

    Haha.

I should bring one of his snowboards with me this summer so you can get him to sign it for me. It'll compliment my 1989 Tony Hawk skateboard [that I had Tony sign last year for me] really well!

I'm with you on the RS4 build. Only I'm going to keep the B6 A4 when I do it. My motto (from years ago) is to just add to the collection. No replace.

That was a great choice of finish for those wheels. They look better slammed than the sportecs did.

Lons old car and he transferred the wheel whore sickness with it!

The Motorsports are great. Everyone who sits in my car comments the ride before anything else.

BTW... hope to see you at SoCal Euro.

haha, like I said before, I've been a wheel whore long before I picked up this car. In the last year, I've gone through 11 sets of wheels between cars, and 6 of those sets have been on this! BTW, just about nothing left, other than the body work, that Lon did before me... And all this time I thought that by buying his car I wouldn't have to touch it!

Are you driving all the way down? See you soon.

Looks very aggresive. Love it!! What suspension are you running? The stance is perfect!

Stasis Motorsport... I wrote a little about the suspension is the second paragraph if you're wondering about them.

I'm thinking about adding some spacers... we'll see.
