    Question Airbag Warning Label Removal?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Has anyone successfully removed their airbag warning labels from their sun visors? After reading it everyday, I am now aware that my airbags are dangerous and that I should not drive with children on my dashboard so now I want to remove them. Just wanted to know if anyone has had any issues with the glue residue after removal. Thanks.

    Re: Airbag Warning Label Removal?

I think they are permanent. I believe that they are applied like a silk-screen, rather than a sticker. I know that they sell visors that don't have the airbag warning on them!

thanks. I had a strong feeling that they are probably permanent for good reasons. Just think it would look a lot cleaner if they magically disappeared.

exactly! I wouldn't pay to get rid of them. They don't bother me at all.

    Re: Airbag Warning Label Removal?

on bmw, the way its removed is by taping off the visor and leaving only the label exposed, use grafitti remover or acetone... the label bubbles up and then you just peal it off... (however ive never tried this on an audi visor so i cannot assure it will work or will not harm the visor...)

    close up shot:

one of the things i preferred about the b5, was that these labels just peeled right off...

    Re: Airbag Warning Label Removal?

thanks for all the help. Not sure if I want to take acetone to the car just yet. Good to know though. Bummer, bc all my last cars I could just peel the sticker right off and one would never know there was one there to begin with. I guess the safety patrol is doing good these days.

    Re: Airbag Warning Label Removal?

The airbag stickers on my Volkswagen were silk-screened as well. They peeled off no problem after soaking the labels in 100% alcohol for 10 minutes. People have said this method doesn't work on the Audi's, but I'll try it someday soon anyway. The only thing I have to lose if it doesn't work is the time I wasted removing the visor and letting the label soak. I'll be trying it someday soon when I have some spare time.

    Re: Airbag Warning Label Removal?

Easy job - remove the visors from the car and lay flat on counter. Cut a rectangle of a thick paper towel to fit the size of the label.(the blue type found at auto parts stores or costco are perfect)Lay paper towel over the label and soak it with regular rubbing alcohol. Let it sit for approx 10 - 15 minutes keeping the towel damp but not running alcohol every where. After soaking start to peel the label at one corner - if it's stubborn just soak some more. Slowly peel it off ! Remove the residue with the rubbing alcohol and finish up with a good vinyl cleaner. No harsh chemicals and way cheaper than $240.
