    radio removal tools?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Quick question.. I am installing a DICE ipod integration kit and need to get my radio out. Does anybody know where I can buy the proper tools to remove it? If there's a tutorial out there on how to remove/reinstall it, that would be helpful too. I have a standard radio (no nav, no sat) if that makes any difference. Thanks.

ebay is still your friend :)

This is if you have a 1din player. If you have a 2din player you'll need 4 of those.

    Re: radio removal tools?

I know they are more expensive than eBay ones but these are excellent:

They are installer quality and work a helluva lot better than cheap eBay ones. Of course if you don't see yourself pulling the radio more than once I guess you could get the cheap ones....of course that's what I thought and have probably pulled it 5 times including replacing it with a SymII+

As for tutorials, just push the key in with the flat side facing out and it will click letting you know it has engaged the lock. Then you pull lightly on the 2 on one side then the other, it will wiggle out. Of course this is better with 2 people as you can slowly pull on both sides. make sure you put down a towel so you don't accidentally scratch your shifter or trim.

Tip: If you have a Symphony I (with a tape player) you can stick your hand in the tape deck and pull from there once the keys are in.
