You cannot use an SDHC card in an RNS-E. In other words, you are limited to 4gb.

    Re: SD Card problems

That was my mistake too... I originally ordered an 8GB card, but had to exchange it for two 4GB cards. I ordered the Transcend brand and they work perfectly. Didn't even have to format as they already came pre-formatted.

    I use the 4GB non-SDHC Transcend cards(from newegg.com) as well. Works great!

Yup - i'm using the same 4Gb standard SD from Transcend. I got mine via eBay for £15 - bargain.

    Re: SD Card problems

It's weird, whenever I use my laptop's built-in SD card reader to transfer data (Using Vista Ultimate 64-bit) I always end up with corrupted data.

Then I switch over to my desktop (XP, 32-bit) using a SD card reader- it's fine lol.

    Damn you Vista!

I thought standard SD cards only go up to 2GB and anything above that is SDHC?

Although there some 4GB SDHC cards, you can get regular 4GB SD's too. 8GB is HC only

    Re: SD Card problems

I bought a 4gig SDHC by SanDisk and everytime I put it into the card, it says loading. After a good 15-20 min. it shows empty.

Am I doing something wrong? Is it my SD?

SDHC is the problem. Not compatible.

That's the correct way to do it. Try a different computer/reader if possible. Some cheap ones really are crap. Vista/XP shouldn't matter as I've personally used both.

Are the filenames of the songs not showing up longer than 64 characters? If so, try renaming the files to no more than 64 characters and see if they show up. Here's a link to a simple program I found that analyzes the length of the filenames: http://www.optimumx.com/download/PathAnalyzer_Beta.zip
To install it, you might need the Microsoft .NET Framework v2.0 (if you don't have it on your system): http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...d-aab15c5e04f5
Also, there are few characters such as "!" that will meke the mp3 file unreadable to the Audi RNS-E.

Also, there is a limit to the number of files. I run in to that problem if I'm not paying attention. I think it's something around 256? Maybe it's 512? I can't remember.

For those of you that use the 4gb SD cards, which SD-card reader do you use for your computer? Because my current SD-card reader will not read anything 2gb and above.

    Thanks.

According to the following post, the limit is 400 songs:
