Help the brand spankin nub !!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey guys i just picked up an Audi A4 B7 2.0t quattro yesterday w/ the 17" y-spoke wheels and I was wondering where is the best place to buy the h&r springs to lower my car on stock wheels (going to powder coat stock wheels flat black on white car).
I want to slam it as much as possible !

Also is there any LED's i can buy to put in the front of the car near the headlights, like the new 09 A4's.

And where is the best place to buy the rear spoiler lip allready painted.

ps. in best i mean cheapest :) !!!

First step, there are a lot of vendors on here so just search around. To slam it as much as possible, you're going to want to get some coil overs. H&R, StaSiS, Eibach, Konig, Tien etc. are a few of the well known brands amongst others.

LED's like the R8, A6, or B8 A4's, not to my knowledge. There are LED angel eyes if you're interested in that.

Rear lip spoiler already painted, EBAY. $45-$65 bucks shipped. can't beat that and the color match is pretty acurate.

Btw, painting your stock wheels black, ehh, to each their own but I personally think those wheels will look like stock steel wheels painted black. But good luck anyway.

Well, my friend did the same thing on his mercedes e class stock rims and the car looks beautiful. These y-spoke wheels are not bad lookin wheels anyway just small in size. My plane is to keep it pretty simple but still sexy.

If you can't afford to mod your car, save your pennies until you can.

    Don't cut corners.

btw, congrats on the new ride and welcome to the board.

Well its not much about the money but, till now i have not seen rims match the car. Also its a lease so I dont want to do major mods like paying 1500+ for them.

I put tints on first. 35% all around. Looks much better. The SE rims are really nice. I didn't like them at first, but they're growing on me. I've had the car for a week, and been complimented on them by almost everyone whos seen the car, so I decided to do the suspension next over the rims. They're good enough for now and for winter, then maybe I'll pickup some RS4 reps next spring (then keep these for the winter). So I would say keep the rims how they are, lower the car, throw some tints on. I'm not sure how they would look black (maybe someone could photoshop them). I'm not a big fan of black rims on black cars (no offense to anyone who has that setup), I like contrast. Chrome/Silver/Black. I do like the gunmetal though for some reason.

well yah my car is white, the top is going to be black and the hood to the front bumper.
also puttin a black rear lip spoiler.
So adding black rims either gunmetal or semi-gloss blass, is a big choice to make.
Oh yah i have also gotten many compliments on the rims too, its cool.

Look in the classifieds. You can find a set of used coils almost for the same prices as a new set of springs. If you put springs only, you'll have to replace the shocks eventually anyway, which means you're doing the job twice, not to mention the ride quality sucks compared to coils. Do it right the first time.

i thought about this same thing..... the cheap route of springs is still going to cost you $200 plus ~$300 for installation. good coilovers (stasis ss) can be had for $1000 or way less than that if you find them used, and the installation cost will be the same. aftermarket springs will also wear out your stock shocks, warranting their replacement to the tune of $500 plus installation after as little as 5k miles on the new springs.

i decided to wait until i have the money for coils. congrats on the new ride!

As did I. Plus, even though you'll spend like 1400 to get the coils and get them on, you'll make a lot of that back when you take them off and sell them used. Could proabbly still get like 600 for a used set. So in the end, it will be like you just paid for the springs...however you'll have coils and the handling will be infinitely better.

hmm true that ima start looking for used coils i guess, but i was looking at the hnr sport springs and hey lower 1.7" and i asked some Audi guy at a local motorsport place and he said it goes lower than that for sure. So th best thing for me right now is take my time and make the best choice after analyzing it.

Just springs are going to blow your shocks. Then you'll be really screwed. Also, buying used is okay...but you do not get the warranty that coil overs come with. So...I would just spend the $995 on some STaSIS Street Sports and be done with it. Don't chince out and just get springs. Bad Idea!!

Someone here being serious and honest. Jee man, good going.

He is right, do the job right from the start or dont do it at all. You will end yous shocks right away by putting just springs on...

I would also suggest a Bilstein PSS Coilover kit...It rocks...
