Going to drag for the first time ...

    Hi !

I tried the search button but I don't have a constant answer ...
First things first, here's my mods :

    Audi S4 2001.5 manual
    Giac 3- software
    Samco hoses
    K04
    RS4 Clutch
    AWE LWFW
    RS4 Engine mounts
    AWE S-Flo
    APR Bi-Pipe
    Piggie pipes
Stock exhaust (still waiting for the 89mm from Autospeed)
    NO DTS
    NO Snub mount
    225/45/ZR17 Toyo Proxes T1R

I just want to know how to lauch the car and the shifting points ...

I read : Rev the car to 4000rpm and then it the gas pedal for the lauch and shift to the redline on all gears... Is that the right way ?
What could I expect for a good time with 91 gas ?
Are there "things not to do" for not breaking any parts and not being to hard for the transmission and the clutch ?
    Optimal pressure tire ?

    Thank you !

    should be easy high 12s

4k slip as opposed to a drop might work. I prefer a 5K drop myself but that RS4 clutch might not take that.

Sorry for my ignorance but what is exactly the difference between slip and drop the clutch ?

Slip- Let it out slow as your RPM's climb

Drop- Let the clutch out like a "pop" as you put the gas to the floor

Don't do it, don't do it! You'll get addicted then you'll keep going back to the track until you burn your Rs4 clutch out, or break something else. Then you'll be banging your head, then fixing your car and spending oodles and oodles of money fixing it. Then you'll take it to the track again and repeat the process all over. Then you will contemplate selling it because its costing you so much money to fix. But you won't want to because you love the car and the power it produces. So you go round and round.....

    But it will be fun

Ok thank you for your input ... so, basically, the best way to "minimise the risk" to break something is to slip or to drop ?

BTW, I planned to do it just once ... I know I could't probably be able to contrain myself ... but anyway ... it's sure that I'll do it at least one time ...ahahahah

to minimize ur chance to break something, let the clutch out slowly as your rev the engine more. As called slipping the clutch. You still have some risk of breaking something, but i have seen some bad breakages when dumping the clutch.
