BMW 328i vs Audi a4

I'm really confused because my buddy is talking a lot of garbage about audi's and I feel like putting him to shame.

The race in question is a stock 1997 BMW 328i sedan, 2.8l inline 6 mated to a 5 speed manual VS. my 1997 audi a4 quattro 1.8l turbo(chipped,intaked, exhaust)

Do you think I have a chance? I realize my car is very heavy since his is only rear wheel.

Its got 190 hp, same as our 30v 2.8l, but at the same time the car actually is only 500 something pounds lighter.

But I'm seeing retarded 0-60 times, and I don't understand how.

I raced a friend from a dig who had a 325is (chipped, intake, exhaust, fat rubber, approx ~200hp) vs my 2000 A4 (just chipped) and I smoked him off the line and never looked back. Learn how to launch and you'll walk him.

Heh, just thinking back, I remember my buddy being really impressed with the Audi. He said, "I was waiting for the tyres to grip and go, but you were just gone!"

i raced my friends E36 328ci (exhaust) and i killed him by 6 or 7 lengths

I massacred a 328is before by like 6 lengths with my car.
I ran with a E36 M3, neck and neck up to 95 before as well.
If you have bolt ons you can certainly take them fairly easily.

Ya I ran my buddies e36 328is 2-door auto when I was bone stock in my 2.8 and pulled a good 2-3 lengths on him from a roll.

I raced a stock 2001 330i Auto on the highway the other night from 4th gear (could have been in 3rd tho), and to be fair, I waited for him to pull away making sure that he downshifted and nailed it and then I nailed it. I kept dead even until 120. I was very disappointed, but my car is pulling strange timing lately.

My wife's 2002 330i (K&N is the only mod) will pull on me by 2-3 car lengths without any problem for say 3/4 gear runs. 330i's have crazy throttle response. I can stay with her with a good but safe launch from the line though.

maby it is an 01, but the last year 328's were avaiable in canada was 07 - 08 models dont come 328
