    Middle resonator removal- Questions

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I know there have been some threads with people who were about to do this, I just wanna see if you guys actually followed through with it, and what are the results, do you like/dislike, why, and what price did you pay?

All I have now is stock exhaust with 14851's at the end, i'm looking to get a little louder, so this is how I wanted to do it. Thanks for the feedback.

    Re: Middle resonator removal- Questions

Hit up a muffler shop, I imagine it will not cost more than $75 to remove it and replace with straight pipes.

If you do not like the sound, it will probably cost the same to replace it.

Anyone actually do this on their car? Is the sound better?

    Re: Middle resonator removal- Questions

It will sound amazing with those mufflers! Trust me on this. But if you plan on using a test pipe, the drone will be highly noticeable. My wife hated it so I put the resonator back on and now no drone but sounds great on acceleration.

    Re: Middle resonator removal- Questions

^The mufflers are on already, I just want more sound, so i wanna get the middle resonator off. Unless I misunderstood and you meant that no middle resonator with the 14851's will sound great. That would be good.

Yes, with your Magnaflows already on and if you take off the resonator I am confident that you will achieve the "more sound" you are looking for. Like I said it will sound Amazing!! Just do it and you'll be glad you did.

I have 14829 Mags(street series of the 14851) with no resonator. Sounds great. Was charged 70 bucks to do it.
