Fast help -- Racetec IC install

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hi, im in the garage atm trying to install my FMIC racetec, but im kind of wondering.. did i get the right piping!? Its three parts, one long that MUST be on the driver side, due to the fact that the sensor is on. And then i got two more for the passanger side but i cannot for the life of me figure out how to use them, and what silicone hose where.. anyone can please try to explain or pics would be great! all the one i can find on racetec and a4mods is only two pipes.

sorry if this post was a mess!

    ^^^Correct

The shorter pipe comes off the intercooler, and the longer, more twisted one goes up to the turbo. The 1" pipe coming off then goes to the DV with the piece of hose you should have got with the kit

they essentially took the pipe and cut it at this green line

from underneath it would look something like this when installed

i believe you would use that right angle silicone hose where the pipe was separated

you mean as opposed to off the turbo?

GT28RS doesn't have a spot for it like the other turbos... so you have to either tap the turbo or put it off the charge pipe

My gt28rs came with a "L" fitting for the n75 line. The fitting threaded right by the edge of the outlet on the turbo.

my GTRS turbo comes with a nip on the end for the N75 i guess, still.. we made it work one way, but that caused the outlet for the DV to be right under the SAI, facing to the wheels, if you understand... Very far from where it really should be... thats the only way we could possible get it to work.. :-( but it shoundt matter right? i could just get a new hose and run it from the IC pipe to the dv. Allthought ill prolly be a like tree times as big as the original;-) Also, i've seen a few guys on the forum who have "cleaned" up the intake part as far as all these connectors.. Is there anything that really can be removed? God its soooooooo little room in there when you have a gtrs and a neuspeed tip ;)

sorry for the waiting time, had some trouble getting the cam to work + the car is in a garage 30mins from me;) anyways, heres a pic, and this is the only way i could get it to work in the direction of the turbo... *grrr* Nick also missed a silicone hose, went out to buy one today but the cheapest i could find was almost 100 bucks... sick prices in this country, hope a friend of mine has a piece lying around...

yeah, i figured that much, but the other way around it completly doesnt fit, you can see the piece earlier in the thread... its completly a no go :( is it really welded correctly? starting to think the outlet actually is misplaced?

Re: Fast help -- Racetec IC install

you gotta stretch it... attach it to the turbo and then attach your first pipe off the intercooler (keep in mind the bolt that holds the bumper on) then pull each one off a little to u can make it work

Re: Fast help -- Racetec IC install

If it works the way you have it just use it that way, just means you end up having to use a longer hose for the bpv. Have to understand that the Racetec pipes are designed for a stock K03, so when used with a different turbo it will need some work.

Re: Fast help -- Racetec IC install

oh shit... i didnt even think to ask if you had a different turbo... that could totally be the problem

that actually why I had to cut my racetec pipe, because the GT28RS sits farther forward than the k03....
