Just wondering, mines in there now getting it done under CPO warranty. Won't have the car back until monday cuz the only one they had in stock was damaged! Also, how much coolant usually spills out when they do the job? My coolant is old, but I was gonna have it flushed when I do the timing belt.

Re: Whats a coolant flange job go for at the dealer?

Im finishing mine up tomorrow. I got the flange out fairly easy but having the Intake Manifold already off helped me out. Was not as bad as ppl lead it on to be.

Hey A4TL, what is green cts?

It wound up being covered under CPO. Again, I'm not totally sure if was the coolant flange but I'm about 75% sure lol. I know that it was something like that and my mechanic said he would do it for 200 something.

yup failure at 80K , failure at 104k.

i wonder if i could get money back for the first failure due to recall. they wouldn't budge on the 104K recall letter.

    lame.

Re: Whats a coolant flange job go for at the dealer?

If i remember correctly, Audi dealers allocate 3 hours labour (so roughly $360) and the coolant flange itself which is about $90.

No way is the coolant flange a 3 hour job for an audi tech. It took me just under 45 minutes to do swap it out.

How much coolant spills out? I'm doing mine with the TB shortly but wondering if I should just do it separately.

The sensor underneath empties your whole coolant tank

Yeah, that does seem high when you think about it. It was a while ago that I got this quote. I think the parts & labour costs might've included a G12 engine coolant flush. In any case, all you need to know is that the dealer will charge you an arm & a leg! The coolant flange replacement is not a difficult task, the hardest part is getting your hands in there to access it.

I want to guess about 20oz or maybe more when you take the flange off. You will want something to catch it in for sure. But I had already drained some of the fluid before hand.
