How do you remove the dash (properly;) )

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I need my dash out so I can COMPLETELY and CORRECTLY finish my Dynamat job.
I have searched until I'm practically blue in the face, and I am hitting dead end after dead end. would someone PLEASE point me towards some reference links/how to's!!!

    I desperately need the following:

    1) How to remove the DASH

    2) How to remove the HEADLINER

    3) How to on CONTROL ARMS/COILOVERS

Any advice will be sincerely appreciated, as I am basically at a standstill until I can find some good info on my requisite topics. (I have already learned that there are clever little tricks to just about everything in this car. -disassemble properly and it's a walk in the park, try to pry/pull the wrong way on something and it breaks...
By the way, does anyone have any suggestions for a good online Audi parts dealer? ("Dealer only" parts)

np, good luck and go slow, the panels on the dash are easy but the trim can be bent easily...

The dash trim isn't separate. You would have to try hard to bend it.

There is no reason to take the dash out. There is already a ton of sound deadening in there and it is a massive undertaking. I'd do the outer door skins, roof, and floor and call it a day. Trunk lid, trunk sides and maybe the underside of the hood if you want to go all out. With that much done the car will sound like a coffin. Our Outback has all of those done and it really helped lower the noise floor.

The other issue is that you really can't get much access to the firewall. It would be an amazing amount of effort for almost no improvement whatsoever. You're looking at about 20-30 hours to split a dB in half.

Search heater core and my username and you'll find more pics of the dash removal process.
