Cr-v Engine Swap? PLZ Help

hey guys my dads 2000 CR-V has a misfiring cyclinder and the engine is shot to shit. Im looking to swap it with a a replacement and suggestions of stuff to be aware of? like just general knowledge because this will be my first Swap. THANKS!

Basic B20 motor. You should be able to swap motors from another CRV without any issues. I doubt your father is a performance freak and would like to keep it stock, So I suggest scour the yards for a B20 long block.

Its an easy swap. Disconnect all the lines, empty out the anti freeze, take out the axles, drop the 4 mounts. Slide up, swap over harnesses and other parts, Slide down. Bolt back up and done.

You could probably sell the short block to some B20vtec freak on the honda forums for extra change after the fact.

Screw that go with a K-Series (RSX, TSX...etc) motor. B-series is so fanboy!

a kseries in a crv?? wtf??

B20 long blocks can be found for cheap. Very simple swap just rember where the vacuum lines go. the harness is easy to replug in.

hahah thanks so much guys it will be my first so hopefully it goes well. and yes the old man doesnt need anything special... after all its his fault he went with jap crap and not German engineering :)

You can probably diagnose the motor for the misfiring. Probably a bad distributor coil, plug or wire. Why dont you do a compression test and find out first before you butcher the car.

Also, Honda > Audi in relaibility overall. So I dont know what "Jap Crap" your talking about.
