    Re: Quick Question About RNS-D???

The RNS-D is made to fit our cars. I've mainly seen it in euro cars. It'll fit the console with no mod's at all. Now I'm not sure on the wiring harness, i'm guessing it'll plug right in.

No, that's an 8E which is from a B6 and will not fit nicely.
Yes you will have to buy a harness regardless of model.

Look for an RNS-D with either a 8D or 4B prefix in the model number. 8D is direct b5 fit and 4B is A6 which just required trimming of the bottom (I have this one).

^^ I did not know you could get the RNS-D in the B6's. I thought they all got the RSN-E. Learned something new today...lol

So what is the Nav unit ive seen in B5 RS4's? It looks just like this unit.

All the units look the same, but the faceplate angles and such, as well as color only work in certain models.

All the "asses", the actual units indeed are the exact same. It's just the facia that's different, like HotSauce stated both the angles/measurements and the color.

Mine came from an A6 (4B prefix) and thus has a grainy matte black color to it instead of the smooth gloss black that comes in the b5 model. Plus I had to trim a few mms off the bottom to make it fit in the trim.

Sorry to bring back an old thread but what is the part # to the perfect fitting RNS-D unit? I would like to see if I can get one. Thanks.
