I haven't seen this one in this forum yet, but I'm posting it anyway for discussion. It gives a little more insight on the new Audi and its launch, and for all the naysayers, its 406lb/ft!!!!!!!!!!!

i for one is excited to see the new s4. I love the B8 style. I would have preferred bi-turbo, but supercharge is fine with me also. Thanks for the great article.

what's your point? this thread actually has some info that's new for a change. the article states the torque rating and some other interesting facts, unlike the other 8 threads about this car saying the exact same thing. just trying to relay new info

    Nice.

However, performance numbers so far indicate equivalent performance to BMW's 335i, which costs less, and has the same luxury feel and sport capabilities.
With 350hp and over 400lb ft of torque, maybe the numbers are conservative? I would expect better 0-60 and 1/4 mile launches given quattro AWD grip.

conservative numbers are what kills a lot of potential sales.
Audi, if your car is substantially faster, advertise at least 1/10 of a second faster times against your rivals just to compete.

i personally don't car much for 0-60 times, but the majority of the car buying public do.

peaking at 406lb ft (the transmission's maximum torque rating)
Sounds like it is very mod friendly.

This motor is gonna be a tuner's dream it appears. Rumors are that the B8RS4 will be based on a beefed up version of this SCV6 powerplant. In that case, this S4 will have the modding potential of a B5S4 as people will be able to upgrade their S4s to reach the 450hp levels of the RS4, and perhaps beyond.
