    ok guys i need some answers QUICK!!! i have the chance to purchase a used giac chip for a steal. it came off an 2003 Audi Avant Quattro 1.8T, i have a 2003 a4 sedan 1.8tq, will this chip be compatible?? this is a solder on style chip not a flashed ecu, so my question is WILL IT WORK?? Im really wanting a chip and this is a great deal. thanks.

    Sounds pretty good. There might be some variances between VINs. I'd get the model # off the chip and talk to GIAC or a dealer to be sure. They should be able to verify... but I'm not sure if transferring like that is okay or not. Should be.

    If it's a steal who cares if it'll work for you. If it doesn't you can always turn around and sell it for a profit.

    well i bought the chip, even tho i still don't have any solid evidence that says it'll work on my car. I really hope it does...now all i need to do is find a shop that'll solder it on. will shops that don't sell giac solder their chip in???..cause theres none in austin and i really cant afford any downtime w the car due to work and summer school...theres an apr dealer maybe theyll do it. im excited........i have a mbc on the car now set at 10psi hold 12 spike where should it be set w the chip assuming it works??
