    Thanks for the post. Can't say I blame Audi for dropping the V8 due to gas prices. Cost me $68 to fill up yesterday!

    I don't mind the idea of the S4 running a six cylinder but the RS4 should retain a thumping V8.

    wow..RS4 possibly dropping the v8 for a high powered 6,that's nuts. People that buy RS4s dont care about gas!!!?? Anything less than 8 cyl. for the RS4 is just wrong. Now, adding FI to the 8 or moving up to 10cyl would be nice :)

    Downsizing the RS4 is not the way to go IMO. Lowest it should be is some sort of 4.0 TFSI V8

    I didn't realize that people wanting S4's where that concerned about gas mileage. If so go buy a Toyota.

    V6 in the RS4? Comon... if you are buying an RS4 I don't think gas prices are a concern. What a bad call!

    looks like the S5 and soon RS5 is what everyone should be looking into...forget gas prices man, keep that for the A3,A4 model line up. When it comes to S and RS, it needs to be the best.

    I'll play devils advocate. Supercharged cars are really fun!If you have never driven one...do. The possibility of getting a bit more power from things like Chip, Smaller pully,exhaust...stuff like that might really make this a contender.Audi has been pretty good about staying cutting edge on there designs and ideas in the past so maybe they are on to something here.However, I think the RS should be a SC V8, she would really be a beast!I can't wait to wrap my fingers around the wheel of a new S and give her a good rip.Test driving fall of '08. lol
