Primary O2 sensor.... unthreads but does not come out

Alright, the Driver side primary o2 is giving me hell today. Since I wasnt gonna reuse it I cut the wire at the sensor to avoid it wrapping around the extensions. I broke the sensor loose (it had never been cracked open before) and start turning and turning and turning to loosen it. After about 15 min of loosening and the thing not coming out I am sure something is wrong. The sensor turns but its not coming out.... I can do a quarter turn at a time even by hand. I was thinking it was stripped so I tried pulling it but nothing, it stays in. I should mention too that it does wiggle a bit. How should I proceed?

That sucks. If possible, try getting a flat head screwdriver under the lip to pry up on it as you turn it. Hopefully the threads will catch... If not...you're gonna hate life.

Re: Primary O2 sensor.... unthreads but does not come out

Well, after about 3 hours of hating life I finally got it out. I ended up pulling the ratchet and the extensions all the way to one side and then turning and it finally caught on.... the threads on the sensor were very shot.... the treads on the bung we damaged to the point of not being able to start a 18 mm bolt (1.5 pitch) so I went to napa and got a thread chaser. Now I am currently waiting on the sensors from Vast. They should be here monday.. Man, I sure hope they go in 10 times easier then they came out...
