Upgrading Speakers in my B5 A4 1.8t Non Bose

I need to get the rears done and i've done my share of searching but i can't find what i'm looking for.

Fronts were replaced with Polk 4" based on some searching but now i'm thinking i should have went larger to 5.25. I cut the OEM speaker and made it into a bracket for the 4" but will it work for 5.25?

What do i put in the back? so far i know that I will need to get it amped but thats about as far as my knowedlege goes for installation.

Thanks for your help and excuse my spelling.

Get a 4channel amp for the fronts, and I'd recommend getting a second mono amp and a sub.

If you already have 4" speakers in the front I'd stick with those. You have to make new brackets for the 5.25's.

If you want to go 5 1/4 in the front, get the adapters found on ebay... they work perfectly... just might not work with some speakers, like infinity or jbl because the surround is so close to the edge.

the rear can fit 6 3/4 speakers... sometimes the cones are slightly larger than a 6.5, sometimes the speakers just come with adapters... depends on the brand.

A decent 4 channel amp would be a good idea... or a new head unit (if the stocker is still in there)... or both.

after all the back speakers dont really do much, there just back sound. The way the double dins set up the rear speakers while listening to music. it puts it like 80 front 20 rear.

um why... that would sound horrible

I installed Polk Momo 6.5's in my rear doors and they are great. Only problem is they barely fit so I had to force the door panel to go back on. Once its there it isn't touching anything so its not bulging or anything its just the bar above the speaker that makes it difficult. The DB series should fit no problem just the momo's are much deeper and make it about 1/2" too much.

I am also very interested in this and am planning on doing this.
    I have a Concert HU with 6CD
Can you guys recommend specific speakers and an amp?
I know a sub would be nice but I just don't blare my music that loud and just want a nice budget setup with cleaner sound than my stock POS blown speakers.
    Thanks

^^^ 5 1/4 in front doors with ebay adapter, 6 1/2 in rear with adapter that comes with speaker or custom..

Has anybody mounted a tweeter in the stock location? I was wanting to run components in the front with stock locations..
