i am getting my car back tomorrow with my manifold, tp, and ko4 installed. i will drive the car up to NGP saturday to get the apr ko4 program installed but before then i will be running the ko4 on the 1+ program. is this ok, i dont want to screw something up. it is a 2 hour drive to the shop. should i not boost it till the programming is done?

Re: ko4 program question about apr 1+

No personal experience but I've come across threads where people say they are running the K04 on the K03 software without harming anything. It just doesn't operate at peak.

12/23/09 - My car has been phenomenal to me. Runs strong. Don't think I'm ever going to sell it. Rather throw $7k into it for a refresh than buy a new A4 that has no dipstick.
    12/5/10 - 100k miles & counting!
    9/22/13 - 146k+ & running strong w/a new TB, water pump, etc.

Re: ko4 program question about apr 1+

It will spike pretty high (27psi or so) with the 1+ software, just take it easy on the boost until you get it flashed

how much more power do you typically see going from the 1+ to the k04 + software? Is it worth the money?

Re: ko4 program question about apr 1+

Where you supplied with the stock program?
Its done by holding down the cruise control for a number of seconds and the number of times the CEL flashes per second is related to a certain program (ie in my case one flash per second is Stock mode, two is 93, 3 is vallet and 4 is 100 octane). Your Apr dealer should of shown you this, its quite easy.

Re: ko4 program question about apr 1+

yeah i talked to the NGP Racing (the ones doing the software) and they said leave it in 93 +1 and not to get on it. they said it is less likely to get into limp than stock.

Phantomb6 i will repost and let you know the outcome but i only had the 1+ for about and hour before i got a cel and oil pressure light came on (the sludge problem) and had to get it home gingerly. so no real feel for it from the stage 1 program i just had upgraded that day. also, i had a test pipe, and a turbo manifold installed with the turbo so it isnt a fair assesment sorry.
