possible trunk piece (pic)

is it possible to put this trunk piece on a stock american s4 trunk? if so, where can i find it? thanks

You have to modify your entire trunk.
That piece, in the european trunk is longer than in the US one ;)

yes, 1996 trunks were pre facelift european style trunks.

pre facelift = sides of license plate tub are strait up and down(vertical) and they have the lines that are on the US trunks(horizontal ones, one above the plate, one below)

post facelift = ends of plate tub follow the lines of the lights(angled). and shaved lines for a smoothe finish. (basically the lid posted above by the OP)

but yes, you'll have a hell of a time not only getting that peice but you'll also have a hard time fitting it to your US spec trunk lid

that picture is the euro trunk. the tag light area is flat to the car. on the prefacelift 96 cars the tag light stick out, kinda like our cars. try to source a true euro trunk. im doing this as well. a new trunk is around 600. you can find a 96 american trunk for around 300.
