New (to me) B6 -- many ECU codes :-(

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Got the car (2004 B6 avant 1.8TQ auto) last week and today it stumbled a bit and the CEL came on, so I ran the codes (with a borrowed Ross-Tech VAG-COM) and got this list. Also, I could not connect to the central locking module (to reprogram the remote windows). I am checking the codes individually on this forum, but I'm wondering if the trend indicates something more common like a wiring problem, or a problem with some part of the bus. Any assistance appreciated. Thanks!

U might have a bad coilpack. First thing you want to do is clear all the codes to see which ones are old. Any present issues will set the MIL on again or generate another code

Re: New (to me) B6 -- many ECU codes :-(

I did that a few days ago, because the codes involved a lot of low voltages and I know the battery was replaced on the car last week. So these codes are new. I'm not sure why the alarm codes would be there though, as I didn't trip the alarm.

Re: New (to me) B6 -- many ECU codes :-(

Swap cyl 1 & 2 coilpacks with 3 & 4 and clear the codes again. If misfires come back now on 3 & 4, the coilpacks are bad, just replace them. And quite a few of those codes are from low battery voltage, you sure they were ALL cleared after the battery change?

ECT sensor seems to be faulty, which can also throw bogus misfire codes :)
