    Killer Wheel

    Hi All,
I came across this in the wheel and tire forum. I know the HRE P-40 and M-40 Monoblock generated a whole lot of interest here, so you should like this wheel. Great look for a grand a set!

    VMR Wheels V710

    Features

Based almost entirely on customer review and comments, this wheel is designed to cater specifically to the forum community. The latest trend appears to remain with a mesh design, so the V710 was made to suit that need. The V710 has a very aggressive concave allowing for clearance on virtually all big brake kits (BBK's). There is also a very aggressive lip design to compliment the concavity of the wheel. We finish by adding details around the edge of the spokes and elevated the centercap area. Aside from showing any big brake kits you may install under these wheels, these should be a little easier to clean :)

    Production & Shipment:

Initial color for the first production will be our popular Hypersilver finish. Of course, more finishes will be introduced based on demand and overall feedback. Audi specific size will be 19x8.5 ET35, 5x112, 57.1 center bore. Expect the first sets of these to be available early/mid July. Quantities are going to be limited, and we expect this to sell out before the shipment arrives. We will begin to take pre-orders once the ETA is set in stone.

Pricing will be determined once final testing has been completed but expect it to be ($999).

I saw those, I always wanted a set of CSL replicas just for road trips or the winter time. I wonder if VMR's going to do a group buy on these.

    Re: Killer Wheel

They are nice looking wheels, but they are HRE's. Does anyone else think it's fucked up of VMR to just jack HRE design? I know they are probably and advertiser here but I personally think it's not right, it's not even an old design, they just put it out!

Just one man's opinion and I know it's more attainable, I probably wouldn't buy at the HRE price.

This isn't a new thing. Cut-rate manufacturers have been making replica wheels for a long time. BBS wheels have been copied by several wheel makers for years.

on the other hand HRE will know they have a winner, because of the old saying "immatation is the best form of flattery"

until you bend your HRE's and try to get them fixed by HRE.... Velocity is WAYY better than HRE in terms of customer service and strength (well, the p-40 and m-40 are forged, but their other wheels are crap and bend easily!)

i understand i wasn't using hre durability as a way saying the wheel was a winner, but the style

    Re: Killer Wheel

I was planning on getting some P40s, but after these bad boys dropped I can't. It's like all the LM reps that everyone had. I remember the Irvine meet, I saw tons of LM reps, but no real ones. I think it totally takes away from buying the real deal. Oh well, I guess it's time to do some more wheel shopping.

    Re: Killer Wheel

Could it not be argued that HRE copied BBS design?
