00 s4:::::ABS light constantly on, Brake light flashing

ABS light(steady) and Brake light (flashing) constantly both stay on. As i was taking a corner the other day i had the car slide out sideways completely. From what i hear when ABS is not detected it turns off the quattro system, leading me to believe it is my ABS module.



history with this car.

00 Audi S4
it was a theft recovery, the center console was torn out exposing the parking brake and a few wires under the console. these wires had been cut and as i begin to do some work on the car, i want to figure some things out.

Is my brake light flashing as a result of the wires being cut, what wires are the brake wires (headunit tells me brake is off even when it is on)?

Is my ABS light on because i just did a brake change?

I have heard rumors it could be from aftermarket headlights? and/or aftermarket headunit (pioneer avic-d3)



i have done some research and from what everyone is saying it is the ABS module or pumps....is there any way to tell without a VAG-COM?

If you have vag-com, try to connect to the ABS controller. If it doesn't respond, your controller is bad. Had mine rebuilt last year.

Were you braking in the corner? With a bad ABS module your rear brakes lock up very quickly. I've been driving like this for a while now.

its your abs module... just remove it and send it to module masters.. its the cheapest fix, around 220.00..

yeah i also need to fix my module.... but i have no lights, so i think the previous owner pulled out the bulb or something bc when i pull my hand-brake up the "brake" light doesn't go on either....
