Want to Learn how to Detail -- Help!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Since I've had my car I've always taken great care of it. I wash it myself and only dry it with Microfibre clothes. I want to do more. I want to really get it looking great. The only way to do this is by taking the time to detail it. With a claybar, polish spray, wax, etc...

What is a good starter kit, for someone who has little experience doing this sort of thing? Is there such a kit? If there is, who makes it? If some of the detailers here could point me in the right direction that would be great! Are there instructions I could follow to do each step, as I really do not want to damage my paint.

    Thanks!

Watch all of the Adam's videos in this link:

    http://www.detailersdomain.com/index...on=Custom&ID=3

Detailer's Domain, where those videos are posted on (and sponsor of this forum and overall great folks), sells an Adam's complete detail kit for $380, INCLUDING the Porter Cable polisher! That is a steal, and I would have considered it if I hadn't already bought a bunch of stuff before I saw it. Here's the link to that.

If you watch those videos and do everything it says using the products in that kit, you would have a pretty dopetastic detail when you were finished. Then you can upgrade items as necessary in the future, like buying $500 waxes and such! [O_O]

But that would get you into it for pretty cheap.

And I know $380 sounds like a lot when you've been using Armour All and Turtle Wax your whole life, but trust me, $380 ain't nothing!!!!!!!!

Some of the professional detailers on here might have some better suggestions, but after watching those videos, I learned quite a lot, even though I knew a bunch of it already from detailing over the years. Then read every thread you can on this detailing forum, and all the stickys.

Have you become pretty good at detailing with this stuff?
