Has the anti-roll back feature that the 5 series BMW has? I know our cars dont have it, and I was curious if the direct competitor did.

I was driving a manual 5 series the other day on a hill, and I noticed that it wont roll back at all for a second. Pretty awesome feature.

The B8 A4 will have that, the A5/S5 has it as well. However, I'm not sure if it is a standard feature.

The S5 I ordered has that feature. It is standard on the manual transmission on the A5/S5. Same as on the up and coming B8 A4 manual tranny.

The BMW enhanced braking systems also does the following;

The system dries off the rotors if it is raining by occasionally scrubbing the pad against the rotor. If you quickly pull your foot off the gas pedal, it prepares to brakes to stop just as quickly. It also has brake fade compensation so if you're braking hard over and over, it applies more force.

i have it on my 07...when on a hill while driving it i take my foot off the brake it will not roll back...works great near Syracuse university...

According to two Audi Dealers I spoke with, our B7's are supposed to do this also.

my RS4 doesn't have it...... but, yes, the 3-series does it for 3-4 seconds....

my 745 has that feature on the automatic, its called auto park. you how the car rolls forward on the auto tranny if you dont press the brake when stopped, well this feature activates the brakes everytime you come to a complete stop, so the car doesnt roll forward or if you are on a crazy hill, doesnt roll back, to deactivate it just press the gas. real useful feature when you're extremely lazy, espcially when you got an ass heater and a butt masseger on.
