How can you import an RS6 into Ontario?

I've seen a couple around the city, all with Ontario plates......how do these people get away with bringing that beast into the country??? [O_O]

If you look on ebay, you can find em for under $40k in the states.....extremely tempting if you ask me!

im pretty sure you could buy them here (i have seen them at audi dealership) so importing it into the country would be similar/same as other cars

No issue in bringing over the RS6 from the US. Check riv.ca in case there's a particular group of VINs that are inadmissible.

Actually the RS6 is on the inadmissible list, so there is no way that you can import it.

Ah yes right, was thinking about something else. The 2003 RS6 is on the inadmissible list. Were there any other years for the RS6?

Re: How can you import an RS6 into Ontario?

There was a bunch of RS6s (60 or 100 iirc) that where brought into canada via the dealers to rid the US of surplus RS6s that weren't selling.

I thought I heard that, the RS6 sold well here but not in the states, kinda odd.

The C5 RS6 were available in Canada in MY04, no need to bring them in from US.

Re: How can you import an RS6 into Ontario?

    The 2003 RS6 is inadmissible.

    However.

That does not mean you cannot import it. What it means is that it requires (often costly) modifications before it can be registered and insured in the country. Contact the RIV for more info on what's required. Often times it is because the bumper doesn't meet Canadian spec. But it could be something totally different.

The RIV frequently posts new additions to the inadmissible list, so check any time you're thinking of doing this.

Here's the list, current as of today: clicky click

A couple weeks ago, for about $20k I found a green S6 Avant....... mmmm sex, but it is of course inadmissible. Drat.

Re: How can you import an RS6 into Ontario?

We had 78 RS6s come into Canada in 2004. They were sold at dealers for about $100k. We've had 2 since as CPO cars.
If you look and be patient, you'll find one.
