    Is this the part??

Also, is it SUPER easy to fix, like I know its under the oil pan, but how do you go about it. just disconnect the harness around it and screw this one in? IDK if this is a dumb question but will oil drip out when you unscrew the current sender? TIA!

Those are the wrong temp senders. Those are for the 2.8. This is the one you need to get.

Febi - OE Oil Level Sensor ES#2380

You also won the Audi maintenance jackpot because this is one of the easiest parts to replace and you know how rare that is. It's right on the bottom of the pan. You can get it done while you change your oil.

Mike, change your oil while you do it. 2 birds with 1 stone?

Re: If I need to replace my Oil Temp Sender...

You have to change your oil to do it. Drain the oil first and then take out the sensor. Oil will leak from where the sensor is, but it won't be that bad if you let the oil drain out for about 10 minutes beforehand. You will laugh at how easy it is compare to most maintenance on this car.

Re: If I need to replace my Oil Temp Sender...

Dude I think mine broke the other day too. The oil temp is below 100 after like 10 minutes of driving, and then it shoots up. Thanks for the heads up.

Re: If I need to replace my Oil Temp Sender...

If you don't want to wait until your next oil change or if you have just done a oil change you can change this part without draining the oil (although not recommended). All you need is an assistant with a vacuum cleaner (preferably wet/dry vac as I have never used a conventional home vac. but it may work fine to). Remove oil fill cap, turn vacuum cleaner on and seal it to the valve cover opening and swap out part quickly. A small amount of oil may drip. This is an old school trick that I have used on engines with as much as 15 qts of oil.

Deff. not going to be using that again, going back to the good ol' Castrol Euro Spec 100% Synth. oil

BUMP. Rolled! I have another Q. So i called ECS, and it was a good 20 minute ordeal. he said the screw IS the temp sender. the other one just does the oil level. if the oil light comes on thats the baby you need. so hes sending me the ETKA diagram of the part. you agree ?

the one you had listed is what you want for temp. the other one is for the oil level.

The one on the bottom senses level and temp, the one on the side of the pan senses pressure.
