Seriously considering trimming my fenders to accommodate some valeo ecodes. Has anyone had any problems with this? ie, rust, wiring problems ext... anything you could add would help. thanks

Did mine not too long ago, best visual appealing mod that ive done so far, and def. does give your car a "face lift". i was worried at first about trimming the fenders, but i just went for it and it came out good. i used the old wiring harness from my 2-piece headlights because i am too cheap to pay the $50 from ECS for the upgrade. no rust on the fenders yet, no condensation in the headlights, and overall a great mod. if i were to go back and do it again i would get e-codes instead of the oem headlights but still awesome.

Not to thread jack, but what are the options in the 2 piece or direct fit?
In case there are any good options so you wouldn't HAVE to cut your fenders.

2 piece Depos, which have decent output. Definitely better than the stock two piecers! You can get them in the chrome or blacked out, they are all over ebay I think they are around $150 maybe even cheaper. I would not go with any of the other headlights sold on ebay though, I have heard that they have worse output than stock.

I had them before I got e-codes and they made the front of the car look so much better.

Did that come with bulbs? I already have the headlights/ballasts that I want, I don't need more. Are they H7's?

... I can't find any of those on eBay right now.

Yep they are H7 and don't come with bulbs.

Just a quick search and I found these: CLICK

You might be able to find them cheaper than that I'm not sure.

I actually have a set that I could sell you, but one of the height adjustment screws on one side is broken. Not sure if it would be an easy fix cause I decided to get e-codes.

    Lmk if you're interested.

Yep, all of those two piece headlights on eBay are a direct fit for all pre-facelift B5's that came with two piece headlights stock. The only problem with cheaper headlights is they're more prone to fogging, especially in wet/humid climates. I have Depo's and have only had a problem with the passenger side corner, other than that they're perfect.

Those black headlights are harder to pull off, but if done right you can make them look damn good. This is Aliel's car, ecodes would look tits on his car but I love how it looks with the black housings

Pair those projectors with an HID kit from vvme.com and you'll be damn glad you did it.
