    what injector is this?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
i hate to post this hear. i tried searching, but couldn't find any injectors that looked like this..

i got these from a friend, who ran them in his stage 1+ car, and says the they're TT ones.. but i haven't seen any pictures where they look similar. and these have no Audi rings on it anywhere...

i'm goin Revo stage 2 (from st. 1) and need to have the right injectors. and i'm also needing some "spacers" so i have to figure out which ones i need, or what to use. because i'm shooting to go stage 2 on saturday...

any help is appreciated, and sorry for making another "what injector to use" thread.

so are they TT ones? or or they useful still?? i can take better pics with my digi cam later. this is just a shitty cell pic.. all i got for now..

    thanx guys.

    Re: what injector is this?

They are 380's, used to be sold by Ecode prior to the Genesis 380's. They will work with REVO stage 2. Regarding a spacer, a teflon insert locking nut one size larger than the rail bolts (rail bolts = 8mm, you will need 10mm nuts) usually will suffice

    Re: what injector is this?

thanx A4. so are you sure these will work?? i'm goin revo stage 2, with AWE 3" exhaust, TP, dv, front mount i/c, on an 05' with 38k miles..

and i'm still confused on the spacers. i admit, i haven't even looked at my stock rail/injectors. so i'm not sure what i'm doing. and A4 mods doesn't really explain much about putting in new injectors with spacers..

i want to buy the correct spacers. but don't know where to get them, or a definite answer on what i need.. i plan to put these in saturday, so i need the stuff by then..

i understand they're not the 225 injectors.. but i'm trying to get a definite answer of what they are. and if i'm good to use them on my Revo st2...

and what kind of spacers it requires..

they're VERY similar to what pondside posted, but not exact.. but yah, really really close looking..

    Re: what injector is this?

ohhhhh. just re-read what you posted. i wasn't clear that it's just a plain ol' " NUT " i was thinkin you were talking about some kind of teflon spacer.. my bad.

does anyone have a closeup, of an INSTALLED, spacer on their injetors? so i can get an idea of what i'm doing....

do i need new injector rail bolts?... sorry i'm a noob at this. i just want to get it all sorted... i may hit up DALE hardware prior, they may have some metal spacers, that could possibly work, but i need to know what i'm looking for.. lol.

    thanx

    Re: what injector is this?

if a pic isnt posted by the time i get home from work, i will post one.... i had an issue with apr... i went to aptuning in lebanon, pa... i had the siemens 380 injectors from ecode. he said he couldnt put the injectors in without the spacers but had already started the 1+ flash... i left after shelling out $54 for labor even tho nothing was done in my favor... called ecode and told them about the issue hoping maybe they would feel somewhat sympothetic and reimburse me for not sending spacers w/ the injectors...... i kno i kno, i was just very pissed that i drove 2 1/2 hours for nothing and even paid out money for it... ecode said that they could be installed w/ no spacers... so i turned around and went back. so they started again with the flash and install... 5 min into it, they called me in and showed me what the spacers were needed for. so again, i called ecode and said that they needed spacers.. at this time, i'm in a rage because i am not financially prepared for this day... ecode says, "wait, what were the injectors you got?? sorry, our mistake, we have them here for $10/set". i'm thinking "what balls do they have, not sending the spacers when they should have, not even mentioning that i needed them when i ordered, and then telling me that i had to pay for them". so i go back into the aptuning garage and look w/ the owner and i told him "couldnt you put a half inch worth of small washers in the bolt holes just as a temporary fix and he said that he would not let the car leave the shop with that quality of work. so i ended up paying him to make his own spacers from some tube stock.... charged me a half hour of labor to cut 2 half inch pieces of tube stock and drill a hole in them... so after that was done, i ended up paying aptuning AGAIN another $64 for the labor and parts for the spacers and the flash.....and the guy from aptuning has the manhood to tell me half way through the process that he cant put the injectors in that i brought, but pulls out a set of the old crappy apr injectors and tries to sell them to me for $300. in the end, i end up paying about $450 for the jump from stage 1 to 1+, and that doesnt include the gas for the 130 mile drive down and back...... long story short..... u'll pay now or later....

that's just my story... i wanted to use the small washers to act as spacers but the apr guy said that it was his rep on the line and wouldnt let it leave the shop like that, but charged me to make some instead.... so i guess anything of that type can be used as spacers... if i'm wrong, sue me.... :-D

    Re: what injector is this?

so it's only 2 spacers?? i dont know what to look for. but i have an idea in my head.. i just need spacers to push the fuel rail out another 1/2" appx. for when it bolts down.. is that the jist of it?? so only 2 spacers/nuts/ or some washers...

is the stock rail BOLT, long enough.. i'm assuming so since nobody has said otherwise..

basically all i need to install these injectors is (2) 10mm nuts (unless i want some 1/2" tall spacers) that fit around the rail bolt threads..

is that all i'm looking at? if so, that is nothing...

and damn Festerfm..... that really sucks. i'd be ridiculously pissed. you don't even know.. lol. thanx for the story tho..

    Re: what injector is this?

The only time you will need spacers is if the injectors will not insert into the injector seats all the way. Apparently it is only a problem with certain model years. I know my '03 had that issue. you can fix this by simply adding washers under the fuel rail to make up the difference in distance required to bottom out the rail. I didn't like the idea of using spacers (which is really more a cosmetic issue than a performance issue) so I turned down the lower portion of the injectors so that spacers were not needed. Here is an old link spelling it out in a little more detail. Clicky click If you have access to a lathe or have a buddy that does, it is a very simple procedure to turn down the injector neck far enough to eliminate the need for spacers.

    Cheers!
