carbon fibre that looks good costs a lot. it can't be helped. stick with your aluminum unless you're willing to get the good shit. Overwise it looks cheap.

Spend $200 on that stick on product and then wish you bought a set from the group buy I have going on

Or just put that $200 toward the purchase and be happy with the end result.

It's your money so the choice is up to you.

I 2nd Winston and Terry. Though it may be a little more out of pocket but their work is worth it. I've had their set (pre-production ones) for just about a year now, still looks as good as day one.

don't waste your money on a trim kit for 800. That is just stupid. You can do it yourself for a quarter of that price or you can take it to get overlayed somewhere local for half of that price.

I feel like $800 is a bit expensive also....
I am considering buying the matrerials and doing it myself, just a matter of finding the time.

i sanded down my fishscale trim, now i have brushed aluminum look. it didn't cost anything (assumin you have some sandpaper and some clear spray paint around) otherwise, it's a few bucks. and i love it..

it's not carbon fiber, but i think it looks hot! you can find pics on here by searching DIY brushed alum.... ect

Wow the price is $800.00 now for trim. Holy Shit. A brand new Carbon Fiber Hood cost less. Dont get me wrong, Terry does top notch work, but the price is getting kinda absurd. $500.00 was a great price point. "Almost to expensive, but still justifiable"

You just made me think about that and I have to agree. Hell, a carbon fiber trunk can be had for that price. Don't RS4s come with carbon fiber trim?

Yep. I mean I have a set, but $800.00 !? Honestly I think, actually I know that they will sell more at a lower price point. They can sell 5 sets at $800.00 or lower the price and sell 10-12 sets for $500.00 a pop.

They have a market Monopoly right now, but I would suggest a price cut, before someone steps in and under cuts them by making the same product at a lower price.

Oh yah, mind you I say this after paying good money for my items.

you have a really greay point. as soon as somone figures out how to do it and invest a little time and money. they can just offer it for $500 or even $600 and still outsell the competion. and now that i think of it. i bought a VIS carbon fiber hood for my civic back in the day and it only cost me $450 cash. brand new. so i mean this is a little more detailed i guess you can say but abotu 70% less carbon fiber.. im going to search for a local shop that can just wrap my shit.. and ill get back to you guys with prices.. i think if i figured out how to lay cf.. i would have alot of dumb shit wrapped in it lol...

ps im not tryin to hate on winston. if anythign they are smart business people...

also.. i would rather buy a in dash navigation before cf trim for that price. lookes just as "baller" and actually does something... i think panasonic or someone makes a dope touch screen one for liek $600 - $800 depending if you do the ebay thing or not

    Re: Carbon Fiber interior trim

    We have a monopoly?

Please... there are lots of people who make 'similar' trim sets that sell for less. Are they the same. No.

Do most people care? Some do, some don't.

Is our product that much better? Well if you use better materials to make the product it should be a better product shouldn't it?

If you want a cheaper product we aren't the stuff you want. The cost of the materials, resins and clearcoat we use is far above what everyone else uses but in the end most people probably don't care. For those people that do care about the end product, we try to give them the most perfect product possible.

If there was a better product out on the market for the price point I'd buy it for my own car.

    Re: Carbon Fiber interior trim

Well said. You get what you pay for is what it comes down to. They are offering one of, if not the, best CF trim for a fraction of OE cost. Some people are willing to pay for it and others aren't...all depends on what you're looking for and willing to spend.

The PPG clearcoat we use on our trim costs more than all of the supplies shown in that DIY.

But please don't let that stop anyone from trying to make your own trim sets.
