    ECS's snub-mount??

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Has anyone tried this one? I just broke my second APR and I'm not wasting my time and money on another APR. Wanted to try the Neuspeed but im having trouble with their website so I thought of the ECS since I have had a great experience with them.

Just checking...but did you idle the car for a minute before tightening things up on the APR snub?

Aren't APR's and ECS' snub mount priced the same, $39.00? Oh, did you mean ECS' might last longer? I just installed APR's a few weeks ago. I guess I'll find out in a few months.

How did you find it had cracked? Did you specifically check up on it after time or were there other symptoms that lead you to find the failure?

im satisfied with my apikol snub. i had the apr one for 40k miles and it was fine when i took it out. picked up the apikol cuz it was a lil cheaper and so far so good. i tell you what though, i had s4 motor mounts, just installed my 034 mounts, what a difference. shifting is so smooth now.

not to jack thread but^^^ when you swap out the motor mounts, is it a job you can do in your driveway? and about how long does it take?

well, i felt that when I took off on a light the motor moved and as if something was loose. so got under the car and checked the snub-mount, torn into 3 pieces.

I just found out the other day I have an ECS snub mount and it's in ahold shape. This is after I put 40k on the car. So what I can say after 40k miles It still looks good and no vibrations

the motor mounts are very easy to swap out. Here is a quick run down

    Unbolt motor mounts
    unbolt tranny mount
    unbolt snub mount
Jack up motor from oilpan (be sure to use wood on the jack so you dont risk cracking the oil pan with the metal jack)
    pull out old mounts
    throw in new ones.
Re tighten everything and your good to go.

I could probably do it in a hour now after doing it a few times.

    Stern Snubby FTW.

I microwaved mine first to soften it up a bit and it slid right on. When it cooled it molded perfectly to the bracket.

Turns out my OEM snubby was FAR past it's retirement date but it's been put to good use.

I'm assuming most of you guys are running a manual transmission, will swapping out the snub mount on a auto/tip provide smoother shifts as well?

Also, what are "034" motor mounts?
