Wish i could help you but my company only insures in the state of Washington right now. (We will be moving to Idaho and Oregon within the next 5 years though )

I would suggest Progressive, although i havent heard great things about their claims process. I would check out your insurance commissioners website, and go through some of the reviews and comments about different carriers. Local companies (apposed to the big national carriers) tend to give you much better service and are able to take care of claims much more efficient and in a painless fashion. Good luck!

Here ya go, did a quick google search for you: http://www.cbs.state.or.us/ins/consumer/consumer.html

Re: need insurance for 2 cars

they have been good to me. the local adjuster i dealt with both times is extremely nice, she met me at school between my classes to get me my check faster. and they didnt total my audi :) i did all that damage and my premiums went down! (i did get married tho) then my truck got stolen, they did total that but i ended talking them up to a final ammount of 2800 from their original offer of 600$. so they have been really good to deal with.

If anyone here is over the age of 25 with a clean driving record, meaning no accidents or tickets within the past 3 years, call up Wawanesa insurace. They are based out of San Diego California and hands down the best rates for autos. I have 500 deductible for both comp/collision and road side coverage and I pay $90 a month for both my 05 A4 and wife's 05 Jetta. I used to pay $120 for just one car with Progressive.

It's Warren Buffet's company, so they can do 24/7 if they want.

$1000 for 6 month shouldn't be that bad since you still have 3 tickets on record.

I used to drive like a mofo in an e46, but I drive like a grandma now. Therefore, what you jsut said actually makes sense.

i agree, wawanesa is the best! unfortunately, they don't offer insurance in WA, only CA, OR, and Canada. they skipped this state for some reason...

i go through costco, who brokers for ameriprise financial. they were the cheapest for me ($920/6mo for 2 cars (S4 and Rabbit), 2 drivers, married).

give progressive a try. IS 300, S4, and xB for less than $700/6mo.

Re: need insurance for 2 cars

Geico quoted me $700 a month. Allstate quoted me $380. Guess which one I chose?

Hint...my insurance doesnt use a talking lizard in their advertisements

BTW: young, terrible driving record (please, dont make me try to remember how many tickets I have recieved, it brings tears to my eyes), unmarried, I live in the ghetto...basically I am SOL when it comes to insurance

that's a great rate! i tried progressive but they came out higher due to my wife's driving record (she was insured with them, not anymore). what are your deductibles and injury limits?

w/ ameriprise we have $500 deductibles and the maximum injury coverage (can't recall the amount... $250k?). as always, increasing deductible / lowering coverage amounts will reflect a great deal upon cost.

married, clean for me... not clean for the wife (4 accidents, 1 at-fault, 1 speeding)
