Longbeach24, Is that an s-line? Do you notice much of a difference with your setup compared to the sport suspension in ride quality? I can tell it made a nice difference in ride height. What wheel and tire combo are you using...size?

use pinch welds and then put jack stands and wood blocks... theres a writeup on audidiy.com if you need some help. you will most definitely run into some issues if your doing it yourself. i did mine two weeks ago.. just be patient, and if you get frustrated, grab a beer

BBS CH in 19's with 235 35's. No rubbing, ride feels better than the s-line suspension so no sacrafice there in my opinion.

    Alright, it's been several hours...pics!!!

Alright I found that write up for the jacks. I only did one wheel today (front right) which took me a good 4 hours lol.. First I had another dude working on his car besides me and I had to help him out time to time (sway bar install)... second is that I go by manual hand tools :) so loosening and tightning everything down to the right pound took me a little.

tomorrow I am starting at 8:00am and gonna do the 3 left over. I am thinking it will probably take me an hour and a half to 2 hours per wheel, considering that my buddy is dropping his car as well and I am doing my car and helping him out with his car (hyndai elantra).

I also found out that you really dont need to disconnect the upper a-arms. All you do is disconnect the sway, disconnect the tie bar (wheel turner) and disconnect the strut on top and bottom. Then by manually turning and pressing the hub with hands ofcourse you can turn it just enough to get the strut to come out.

One last thing.. It takes cars to settle in on the springs (a week or so) so i will ofcorse snap some pics tomorrow once I am done, but the result will probbably be next week or something:)

Keep in mind that I am only 17 :) wrenching away on my 3rd car and helping out a friend so give me a few hours ;)

Yeah looks like an S line, badges on the sides. Looks hot too lowered with Chs
His suspension is much stiffer than stock sport setup, much lower.... therefore rougher in daily use. Espcially if you drive on bad roads. Great on smooth pavement or Hwy though.

    Re: H&R's are here!!!

    Alllright!!!
Sooo after the weather not permitting me to put on my springs 2 days in a row after the day that I started (Tuesday). Wednesday... what a nice day.. sunshine.. I get outside at 8:00 am and start...... then.. with in 6 hours it gets DARK! really dark.. we get a tornado watch and a series of three insane thunder storms (here in Maryland) I am shittin my pants since my car is up on jacks and there are 60 mph winds outside.. so it all calms down after a few hours... I manage to get another spring done.

Thursday.. (yesterday) its nice outside i start... and.. i am taking the upper bolt off the control arm. The thing was soooo tightened down that I am loosening it.. and the bolt BREAKS OFF!!! I am like WWWTTTTFF!!!!!!.

So in complete panic once again.. i get my drill out and my little tiny extractor kit made for little bolts and start drilling the damn thing out. about 3 hours into it... i got the part of the bolt out. "GREEAAT SACCESSS"

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...o/P1020276.jpg

So.. after this.. here are some "very safe ways of doing your springs"

    The “very safe spring compressor”

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...o/P1020261.jpg
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...o/P1020290.jpg

Well after my 3 day journey.. I tightened every bolt down to the right specs with my torque wrench… and went for a ride ……….

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...o/P1020284.jpg
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...o/P1020285.jpg
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...P1020292-1.jpg
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...o/P1020291.jpg

The ride is SICK! I mean… I love the way the car is slammed… and there is no bounce in the suspension at all. It rides like its on rails. I’m going to wait for a week or so to get my alignment done, since everything has to settle in.

yeah.. well I am a bit exxagerating (sp?). When I go over bumps.. yes the little mud guard things up front on the bumper that come before the wheels behind the bumper scrape. Not a biggie I am actually thinking of taking them off anyway.

I have the H&R sport springs... and the car is the S-line with SACH struts. It is lower than i thought it would be.. but I love it :)
