I have a 99 a4 b5 1.8t with a manual trans. Just wondering if any one out there knows which 02 sensor to replace when I get the code; 17604 oxygen (lambda) sensor heater circut B1 S1 electric malfunction P1196-35-00--. Im not sure if it's the one in front of, or after the Cat? Thanks.

Since it is your heater, make sure the heating wire has power and is not shorted.

    Re: 02 sensor question.

any other hints? He also had a lean condition code but it might have been caused by a vacuum leak.
