I wouldn't start modding with an exhaust. You can better spend the money elsewhere. If your car is up to date on service, go for upgraded diverters and TBB and then chip it. Best bang for the buck. You can pick up an exhaust down the road. Everyone has opinions on the best sounding exhaust. Best to hear them for yourself if you can and make your own call.

Yeah that sounds good, but i've heard alot about chipping the car. Some people say its terrible and than some people say how great it is.

Stop talking to the people that say it's terrible...That makes no sense. Do the basic upgrades, major maintenace(timing belt) if you haven't already and then chip it. You can thank me later. How many miles are on your car?

Its a 2001 s4 with 72,000 miles just got a new timing belt 2 weeks ago. About how much is this going to cost to do the minor upgrades and chip it?

Diverter valves, if you get basic 710N's are about 40 each, throttle body boot, another 60 or so. And then of course, you have to shop around for chipped ECU's. You may want to go used for a few hundred bucks. But search, search, search. You have a few options.

    Search...

I agree you should chip it , then do the TBB, and also the diverter valves. People say that chipping your car is horrible, its only because they drive the crap out it, and treat it like crap. I was taught that your car will treat you as good as you treat it. Just keep that in mind

    Re: just a few questions

Well i will get back to your original question. I think that most will agree that nice sounding exhaust that are somewhat loud would either be the AWE Twin 1, or the Autospeed True Dual. Those are pretty loud with a nice tone.

    Re: just a few questions

In case you are interested, I have and do not need a used Samco TBB, a new silicone Samco clone, generic TBB, a new in box SSAutochrome dual exhaust, and a GIAC chip for a 6 speed MT. It is a "socket" type, which has fallen out of fashion, but assuming your ECU is socketed, you can DIY and be chipped for little more than the price of a tank of premium gas these days. In my opinion, the FIRST thing you should do (if want more power), is to chip your car. A very close second is to get a boost guage. Thirdly, remove your precats--"piggify" your stock pipes, for no $ if you can DIY. Those 2 things will make a huge difference. After that, a catback exhaust, and the other things such as DV's, TBB, etc.

PM me if you want to buy anything--I will sell what I have for cheap!
