Lock out mode for APR Chip

Hey guys i was wondering if anyone that has the apr flash could help me out. When i got my car flashed they didnt have any manuals so i dont know how to use the stealth feature of the programming. I bought the flash during the sale and got stock 91, 93, and 100 files and they said it had the lockout and everything else. Right after it was flashed it required me to put in my code before it would let me change to the different programs however now all i do is hold the cruise button on the stalk and it lets me pick the programs without putting in the code.
So what i was wondering is if anyone could help me out with the procedure for putting it back into the lockout mode as i have to take it to the dealer in the next few days.

    Thanks!!

You need to get your APR dealer to actually do their job and provide you with the manual.

The "lock out" code is NOT the same thing as changing between the programs like 91, 93, 100, etc...

The lock is to prevent anyone from being able to access the simple cruise button function to change between programs.

When you pick your code they need to write that down in your manual/instruction booklet. Not giving you the proper documentation along with the software means your APR dealer is a hack and does NOT know what he's doing. You need to get your manual and stop going to that idiot.

BTW, there is no point in getting 91 and 93 programs other than to spend your money.

I hope this isn't a sneaky Audi dealer trying to see if the customers car is APR chipped!!

Follow the "support" link on the apr web page. All manuals are provided in pdf format online and can be downloaded. No need to worry about your dealer finding out the procedure as the switching function will be dorment until the correct code is entered.

    cheers! mike

Re: Lock out mode for APR Chip

Thanks a lot guys! yeah its crappy that the dealer didnt have any manuals... i couldnt find it on the apr website tho... got it now, thanks!

as for telling me its a waste of money to get the 91 program and the 93 program, if you'd have read what i wrote, i got it during the sale where they give you all the programs for the price of 2 programs. Also i'd definitely argue with you on saying its not worth it to have the 2. Have you had both??? you can't always find 93 octane gas and i know a lot of you just run the 93 program on 91 gas but whatever... there has to be a reason that you are not supposed to do that. Also, the main reason i wanted it is because the 91 program runs less boost.. less boost is less work for the turbo which will increase the longevity of the turbo. I normally just run in 91 and if i feel the urge to have a little more fun i make sure i have a tank of 93 and run the 93 program.
A lot of people complain about the harshness of the APR software, well the 91 program also seems a lot more drivable but still always on.... anway...

Sneaky audi dealer??? like the other guy said, even if the dealer has the manual it will do them no good unless they know the specific code, hence they are "LOCKED OUT"....

Ok so now for the next 2 questions, it doesnt really say in the manual how you access the valet mode? my light only flashes the 4 times during the program selection, (stock, 91,93, and 100) and then in the lockout menu using the cancel detent it flashes up to 3 times with the the fault code erase and the throttle body adaptation and the lockout.... but where's valet???

Also, what do you use the throttle body adaptation for? is this something you just should run periodically or only something you need to do after a mod? and if thats the case, what kinda mods would require it??

Thanks again for all the help!!

Re: Lock out mode for APR Chip

I don't think the valet mode is available on B7:

if you go through the APR website above, the valet mode is not mentioned.

Re: Lock out mode for APR Chip

that could be a good explanation for the lack of valet mode.... thanks!!
