    oil cooler question

this may be a dumb question but do stock b6 a4's come with a factory oil cooler? i ask because i just got bit by the oil sludge monster and now have it fixed. to avoid this i have considered running a oil cooler if they didnt already come with one. i'd do anything right now to make sure this DOES NOT come back again. dont get smart and say "try changing your oil." because i have always changed it with full syn every 3500 miles.

12/23/09 - My car has been phenomenal to me. Runs strong. Don't think I'm ever going to sell it. Rather throw $7k into it for a refresh than buy a new A4 that has no dipstick.
    12/5/10 - 100k miles & counting!
    9/22/13 - 146k+ & running strong w/a new TB, water pump, etc.

    Re: oil cooler question

As far as I know the 'larger filter' is for the cooling effect and there is no separate oil cooler. The cooler we have in front of the radiator is for the power steering fluid.

    Re: oil cooler question

there is a water to oil cooler right above the filter...I am not sure an oil cooler will solve the sludge problem...I do have an additional oil cooler on my car
