Hey guys, I don't know if there's anyone located in/around San Diego...thought I'd post here and say hi. I've actually been on AZ for some time now and I live in Seattle. Because of some job stuff I'm going to be moving down to San Diego. Anyone have any suggestions on where I should look to live? I am moving down sometime in August. =)

    Re: moving to San Diego

I'll be working in Point Loma. I'm fresh out of college, so I want to get away from the whole party scene. Something affordable (800-1200/mo) and in a safe area for my A4 and a motorcycle. I don't know San Diego too well but all the people I've asked so far is that its just a good city to be in overall. But being from Seattle I know every city has its crappy areas and I want to try and avoid them. TIA for suggestions.

Point loma is great. I work there. If you want something affordable check out Mariners cove. I had a friend who lived there. It's nice and quiet and at a decent price too. Also Gables is nice too. Just check apartmentguide.com. I used to live downtown which was cool but out of your budget.

Well, first things first, welcome to SD in advance!

if you want to get away from the whole party scene, I'd advise you avoid Pacific Beach and Mission Beach. They're pretty well-known for being big on partying. I mean, you don't HAVE to partake, but it can be tough you know? Point Loma is a great area. I also really like south La Jolla/Birdrock/North PB, but that's just my preference. There's some alright places in Mission Valley, too, which is fairly close to Point Loma. You could check out Mission Hills and near Old Town and stuff, too. I dunno, just give us more info and we'll throw out more suggestions!

    Re: moving to San Diego

thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll definitely take a look...I post more about what I'm looking for as I get closer to my move date. I may fly in late July for a couple of days to scout the actual apartments, so maybe I'll meet a couple of you right before I move in.

National City. Best spot in SD.

Also check out Trophy's Lounge. Lots of hot mommas.

Edit: I felt bad and had to edit. Stay away from National City. Anywhere north of downtown is pretty decent. Point Loma is pretty nice also.
