36.0 MPG From Atlanta to Macon this morning!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I averaged about 80-85 mph as well. The trip computer says something like 66 MPH but that thing always has issues. I made a video of my trip computer about a half mile from my destination to prove this!!

I did the Atl - Macon trip on Saturday, traffic was terrible, I'm sure I didn't get a good MPG. I didn't pay attention though, I used a half tank for the round trip.

Yeah, I usually do it late at night, after work, or after rush hour on a monday. Traffic is typically never bad at those times. I've made the trip from Roswell, GA to my Apt, off of Wesleyan, in an hour 15 before. (100 miles)

i don't think the onboard computer is very accurate. Through my daily commute (14 miles 95% highway with light/medium congestion), my onboard computer will sometimes show 40+ mpg average. I have consistently been getting 37+ mpg(according to the onboard computer) either way of the commute, but my real-world mileage is closer to 30 (500+ miles consistent from 17 gallon fill-ups)

Right...that's 14 miles. This was 97 miles. I find it pretty accurate actually.

I have a giac flash and if I cruise ~70 for my 25 mile trip to/from work I'm lucky if I hit 30...

Re: 36.0 MPG From Atlanta to Macon this morning!

I averaged 29.11mpg round trip from Minneapolis to Washington DC and back (2228 miles) with A/C on 50% of the time at ~75MPH in my 3.2l A4 quatrro 6MT. Temps were 100 degrees with ~70% humidity in DC when I bugged outta there.

Since Audi specs this car out at 25mpg on the highway, I think ~20% higher actual mpg is a great thing.

After that trip, I took my car in for its 5000 mile service.

Those of you running 4 cylinder turbos should get much better mileage than that, and even better mpg if you've flashed your ECUs and made your power plants even more efficient.

Pffffht and I see in the newspaper sales on "high mileage" vehicles getting 28 -30 mpg for two wheel drive POSs.....

    What's wrong with that picture!?

I thought the exact same thing as soon as I saw that!!
As for gas mileage, I average about 320-350 to a tank but I do about 60/40 city/highway driving. I know when I do a longer drive (to North Dallas or Austin) on the freeway my average sits around 31 mpg. I'm sure I could do better but occasionally I can't resist the guy in the C230 thinking he's all that or the wide open on ramp.
