Built in iPod in A4 blows, anyway to replace it?

Just bought the A4 a few days ago and realized that I got ripped on this integrated iPod connector in the glovebox. This is garbage, doesnt even show the song names or anything, just shows top 6 playlists and tracks under it, this is useless to me.

So wanted to know if its possible to remove this and put in something a bit more useable like the DICE or Gateway500 or something?

Def agree with you. The IPOD integration system sucks!! I hate how you can only play 6 playlists. Such a simple concept or design could have easily been integrated into the car, but wasnt...Im thinking of just getting one off those adaptors that uses the radio frequencies to broadcast the songs to my stereo.

I got fooled into the bluetooth as well, which cant understand or pick up my voice even Im screaming. Damn thats about $750 of options down the drain....

Yeap, I guess I shouldve put my ipod in it before doing the deal on it, cause I might have had them pull that crap out and put 6CD changer in place. Now its going to cost me about $500 or so on a real integrated unit.

Anyone try this? One thing nice is that it has an extra aux jack built in

Really? My bluetooth works GREAT. No one ever has problems hearing me even with the window down on the freeway. I do have a problem hearing them at those times though, but with the windows closed it's as clear as havign a headset on.

I'd also recommend doing some searches, because it seems to me there've been just TONS of posts about this lately.........gotta be something useful in one of those threads.

Yea I spent the last hour searching and seems like Im going nowhere, seems like thanks to Audi and their engineering, that there is no way for the track information to show on the RNS-E based setups, only works on the MMI based setups.

    Fabulous.
