Re: oil light keeps going off...

Did you change your own oil?
Give us some background info like what oil you usually use? Oil change intervals? Which filter did you use/is it the large one?

I would think that HOPEFULLY you or whom ever changed your oil just didn't add enough (or fill the filter and didn't top it off afterward).

If not that then maybe a bad sensor.

If not the two above, the oil light more often than not is a sign that you have sludge problems that just got worse .

Re: oil light keeps going off...

i changed my own oil used mobil1 (5-30) with a mobil1 large capacity filter which i have used since i got the car (63k Miles) and have never had this happen. Current milage is 90k. When im coasting no light comes on but if im in third or 4th and get up to 4k RPM the oil light will pop up. Not sure but could this possibly the oil pump or maybe some sludge problem? what are some visable signs i should look to tell if its sludge?
    thanks again

I'm not 100% sure, but it seems like a sludge problem.

Also, why are you using Mobil1 5W30 oil? The Audi Technical Service Bulletin states either Mobil1 0W40 or 5W40.

Try to contact some AZ members from your area and have them diagnose the problem for you by "HANDS ON".
