    Re: Dts???

I have the AWE DTS. It keeps a modified S4s motor in place rather than ripping itself to pieces. Downsides: if you are too low, you will drag that shiz on everything.

Bilstein shocks, H&R race springs, Neuspeed rear sway, GIAC software, AWE cat back, Samco hoses, etc. It is pretty low, and bottoms out on a lot of things, got stuck in a car wash once.

Like Vuel said - it harnesses the power better. It does exactly just that -- it stabilizes the drivetrain movement. The shifts feel more solid and the car overall just feels more solid. Very well worth it IMO.

I concur I couldn't believe how much more solid it felt after I had it put on.

I can't go through most car washes with rails because its low, and when it scrapes the bottom, it hurts to witness!

Not quite. DTS bolts to the tranny. Snub mount bolts to the very front of the engine, just behind the bumper. Those are two completely different anchor points and will control drivetrain movement in different ways.

Truthfully, if you really want to control drivetrain movement, get the DTS, order DTS upgrade kit from JHM, 034 snub mount and some new 034 motor mounts.

That will lock your shizzle down. You won't believe the difference.

What I am saying is that they both remove drivetrain slop, they have the exact same purpose and you wont be able to tell the difference of one over the other. The snub mount is just $24 and i cant see myself spending triple digits for a bar of steel that will probably not work as well. My DT slop was horrible and I installed a snub and it was night and day. Now I have no reason to get a DTS, I'm happy the way it is. Here is an interesting post that I think all of you should read that compares both a snub vs. a DTS. Its in the middle of the S4 articles and is labeled Improved Driveline Control. http://www.audiworld.com/tech/eng.html

    Re: Dts???

^^ Yeah, I read that article. It had some very good points and I used it for my decisions on driveline control mods. IMO, if the DTS is out of the question for you, 034 street density tranny and motor mounts coupled with the snub mount would be the best bang for the buck. That's going to firm everything up without bringing too much vibration from the drivetrain into the cabin.

Thanks for everyone's input. How hard is it to install a snub mount? And which brand should i go with?

    Re: Dts???

I think it all depends on your mods. For a Stage I or Stage II, a snub mount may be sufficient, but for anything above stage 2, I would recommend adding motor mounts as well as the AWE DTS. The more torque your car has, the more it will benefit from keeping it stabilized. In a perfect world, having a snub mount, DTS, and motormounts will be the best way to keep your drivetrain stabilized.

doesnt the DTS help a ton with lateral (body) sway? not just motor movement?

    Re: Dts???

Yeah it does help, how much I don't know, but it does help.

If you plan on launching the car hard, then get the snub AND the DTS. I can get you the poly DTS mount, the DTS, VAST snub mount, and the VAST RS4 motor and tranny mounts (or the 034 versions) if you would like.

What he said. I have all (DTS with poly mount upgrade, 034 motor and tranny mounts, and 034 snub mount) and I could not be happier. The drivetrain is ROCK solid. I have to admit that it does bring a little extra vibration into the cabin, but it is definitely worth the trade off over the stock mounts and it's not too noticeable.

    Re: Dts???

I had a stern snub mount by itself and felt the difference.
Got a DTS from a member here and man, you definitely feel it also.

I think the DTS would make a larger difference than the snub mount alone.

It is effective, but like I mentioned if you are low, you will scrape things all to hell. Even after getting stuck a few times, the car still runs just fine. Just unseen cosmetic damage. :)

Kinda like my wife after pushing out a couple of kids. I say that because she's the one who says "This thing's kinda noisy for a luxury car." All I have is the DTS.

I just floor it and she shuts up and smiles.
