    Question on Road Side Assistance

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I got a check engine light due to coil pack, meaning it is not drivavle at this moment.

I have three choices of getting a towing car.

    1. the Dealer
    2. Insurance Company
    3. Audi Roadside Assistance

Calling the dealer and getting a towing car from them would be the fastest way. In this case, do I have to pay for the towing car? Can this covered under warranty? What if I call Audi roadside assistance?

If I call the insurance company, will this affect my insurance policy?

    Thank you,

Re: Question on Road Side Assistance

If your car is under warranty call Audi Roadside Assistance. They will send a flatbed to take it to the nearest dealer for repair. It should all be covered under warranty provided your car is still under warranty (New Car or CPO it doesn't matter).

I don't see a need to call your insurance company for this.

For future referance coilpack removal takes less than 10 minutes, you don't need any tools save for a screw driver to remove the engine cover.. they pop straight out, just be gentle with the electrical clip as they can break easily...

You don't need a screwdriver for the cover, a good old coin will do the trick. Although you should have a screwdriver in the trunk of your car provided with the car.

Another reason to do it yourself: the CPO has a franchise (100$ here)
