Blue B5 S4 car shopping at BMW?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Saw a Blue B5 S4 parked at BMW today. Was this any of you guys? Are you switching from Audi to BMW? Why? I work for BMW MINI and I still won't trade my S4 even with the discounts. Na just playing. Just giving you are hard time. It's all good.
Have to admit the BMWs are killer too. Especially the new M3. Car is sick.

Re: Blue B5 S4 car shopping at BMW?

Yup that was me. That was the last stop of the day. I went to Lexus and Mercedes prior. I got to test drive the M3 and 535 today and was equally impressed by both cars. Very different cars with very different personalities so making a decision between the two will depend on if I want a luxury cruiser or a true sports sedan.

I also test drove a MB C350 today since they didn't have a C63 on the lot and for what that car is, I thought it was a pretty nice car. Of course its not on the level of a M3 or even a 335 but I thought for the price it was a nice car.

As for Lexus, I say, fvck them! Got treated like crap from the get go (this is the second time in two months actually). I decided to give them a second chance after the last experience I had and this time was even worse. First they implied that they wouldn't even consider letting me drive an IS-F because they felt its not the right car for me. Instead they only wanted to show me an IS250. Then when I asked about a GS460 I got the same run around. So Lexus can go fvck themselves. I had their cars really high on my list but I will not consider them anymore after dealing with that crap twice.

I can't believe Servco Lexus did that to you, it sounds like they were bias against you about either the way you look or they thought you didn't have the money IMO. Audi of Hawaii never treated me like that at all, they did their best to get me into the car I wanted.

Sounds like Lexus shot themselves in the foot.

Good call on the M3 or 535i. With a little engine tuning, the 535i could actually be faster than the 550i and weigh about 300-400 pounds lighter, which should make the handling even more crisp.

Re: Blue B5 S4 car shopping at BMW?

I had a 06 GS430 before and I have to say their service is garbage. Had multiple problems. They made more than a few mistakes when servicing my car and I'm not the type to ever complain. As for the Lexus cars, they just don't have the same feeling as the european competitors. The GS430 I had was boring. Had alot of power but didn't feel connected to the road in my opinion. I still think the Lexus is a step behind the Audi, BMW, and Mercedes.
Sounds like you had a better experience at BMW and Mercedes. Glad to hear that.
So who did you speak with at BMW and Mercedes? I work sales for BMW MINI and I have a friend that works at Mercedes sales. Let me know if you need anything. Maybe I can try and hook you up some how. Let me know. Good Luck.

Yup that was me. I'm not looking at the 135 because I need the 4-doors. I was rather surprised on how the M3 sedan looked in person because I was thinking it was really ugly when I just saw it in pictures.

Go with the 335i over the 135i. Price wise they are pretty close and even though the 135i is lighter, the performance is not much of a difference. A lot of women been ordering the 128i convertible so it's kind of turning into a chick kind of car which I'm not saying is a bad thing or anything.

At this point, if it's gonna be a BMW, its between a 535 or the M3. I just gotta decide, do I want the raw sports sedan or the refined luxury cruiser.

I'd go for the M3. More exclusive than the 535i and performance wise the M3 is a beast. Good Luck.

Lexus did the same thing to me. Tried to give me a car i didn't want.
Audi shot themselves even harder, when the guy gave me a piss poor attitude on a new Q7. the next time when i asked about their lotus though, they went balls out trying to sell that to me. I guess they make more on Lotus?

you lose the carbon roof on the 4dr! I drove the 2dr my bro got and it's umm....zippy, but not fast. Lots of cool gadgetry though - hint - press the small M button on the steering wheel.

Yeah I noticed the CF roof thing too. Kind of a bummer. The car seemed like it was plenty fast for me. I think I can count on my fingers and toes the amount of times I took my S4 WOT for the 7+ years I've owned it.

X5 huh? Isn't that like what soccer moms drive or are those called 325i? I don't remember I see so many women sporting those.

As for the license plate I got that as a joke with one of my coworkers who bought a 5 series and I think its funny to park next to her everyday.

BMW does make a great vehicle there aren't many German brands that aren't made extremely well. However, for the same reason a Chevy guy doesn't like Ford I cannot like BMW. I do respect their craftsmanship but will continue to talk shit until my heart stops beating or a BMW owner cuts my tongue out...in which case I'll use sign language.

I don't think there's enough fingers and toes in the HI forum to count the number of times I've gone WOT.

Is the M5 in your price range? Sounds like that's the best fit for your needs. Roomy and loads of power. Otherwise I say M3.

The fact that BMW doesn't CPO used M5s or M6s can't make you feel all that good about their reliability either.

The X5 is a great SUV to drive. If you have never driven a V8 with the sport package I suggest you give it a shot. I would bet you would come away very impressed. It is my wifes car by the way, but I will have to say I was very impressed with how "car-like" it drives. I would have rather bought a car personally, but it was her choice. The X5 changed the whole SUV game when it was introduuced and was one of the safest vehicles ever tested at the time, so you can't really knock the X5 too much.

The 325i is mine. I have had it for 7 years. I put nearly 30,000 miles per year on my vehicle for work, so I didn't want to do that to an M car. That is why I still have the 325i, which has nearly 300,000 mile on it and is running strong.

By the way, there is a pretty significant percentage of people driving A4's and A6's that are either women or people who don't know much about cars in general. Not every Audi owner is an enthusiest or knows how to drive. I have one friend who owns an Audi. It is a B7 A4 and he couldn't change the oil if you paid him. Another friend of mine expressed that he really likes Audi and he can't even drive a stick. On the other hand dad is a BMW guy who has completely rebuilt a V-12 engine in a 750, done transmission swaps and so on. Another friend of mine who is a BMW guy holds his BMWCCA racer license and has an e46 M3 and an e36 M3 prepped race car, so I guess it depends on who you know that can change your preception of a certain brand of cars drivers.

As for the license plate I got that as a joke with one of my coworkers who bought a 5 series and I think its funny to park next to her everyday.

That is pretty funny. I was just giving you a hard time.

    LOL.
