How can I determine the size of my rear rotors (without taking them off) ???

I have an '02 1.8T Quattro Tiptronic with Sport Package.

245mm is OEM for the 1.8T

255mm is OEM for the 3.0L

Like MikTip said, you most likely have the 245 mm rotors. If you want to be 100% sure, call the dealer w/ your VIN and they will be able to tell you.

    Re: 245mm or 255mm rear rotors ???

If you're unsure, here's a post I made on another Audi forum about how to measure without yanking the wheels.

Not wanting to pull the wheel off again, I measured the circumference of the center hub using a piece of magnet wire (465mm), then measured the edge of rotor to center hub(50mm). So, take the circumference, divide by pi, multiply the edge to center by 2, and add them all up. :)

    (465/3.14)+(50*2) = 248mm

Which is close enough to 245mm for me, a 3mm difference is easy to account for given the measuring methods.

my 02 1.8T had 255mm. thats why i let the mechanic order the parts. had to resend the junk back because it was not the 245 as expected. gotta love audi. they just take anything out of their parts bin when they are switching years and its pot luck.
