Tried installing LEDs in numberplate light holders... something went horribly wrong

This is the story. I bought 2 bulbs for my b6 number plate holder from superbrightleds.com and they worked GREAT in my b6.. no bulb out notifications or anything..

I got a b7, and i took the bulbs out of my b6, and i guess the lights were on while i was changing them in the b7 (i think).. anyways it took me a long time to get the bulbs out, finally did and put one LED in, went inside turned on the lights, it didnt turn on. i was like wtf so i put a stock bulb in and it wouldnt turn on either.. n then so i was just like okay let me turn it off and put both stock bulbs in.. NOTHING

Im stuck.. i have no number plate bulbs, and now i have the indicator on my DIS about it. The stock bulbs in right now, not working..

i checked fuses and everything but couldnt find one for numberplate bulbs.. anyways im confused, dont know wtf to do.

I can't exactly help you out on what exact fuse it is, but your best bet is to just get a text light and check every fuse on both sides for power. Only thing i can think of without having to go outside and check myself to see what exact fuse it is.

i did that!! but the little fuses dont have metal exposed.. and the names on the back of the fuse box cover didnt say anything about a numberplate fuse..

but the thing is i dont think its a fuse..i think some circuit or something got messed up somehow.. there were no sparks, i didtn short anything out.. i dont know what the hell happened.,

you probably gotta take your neg post on your battery off for about ten minutes. shouldfix it right up.

Did this, no worky. Since the main fusebox on the left side of the instrument cluster didnt have a fuse for the numberplate, where are the other fuseboxes?

check all fuses... it might one of them even though they aren't specific for your number plate.

GREAT idea by leaving your lights on when pulling the bulbs... hopefully you learned your lesson to always disconnect power when working with electronics
