2nd and reverse gear problem help.

Stage 3 is complete. While driving in 1st and going into 2nd the transmission grinds slightly only once fully in 2nd, not going into 2nd. It will go into 2nd fine, so it does not sound like a syncro problem, but once in 2nd and the clutch is 100% disengaged, it moves the car but makes a grinding noise.

Also, once stopped the gear box will not go into reverse. What could cause this?

Any other opinions. Will not go into reverse no matter what we do. This is after we installed the jhm shifter. Not sure if it was installed wrong, but 1 - 6 are great. The 2nd gear thing I mentioned is intermittent. What could it be?

Yes we did. The transmission went into reverse prior to the install of the solid shifter. Not sure what's going on.
