so yeah, got some downpipes, pretty confident with installing them myself. But im wanting to be on the safe side and time is essential for me to get the job done. anyone know any good resources with pictures on how to remove and install? i have found some that are very vague and i have the idea but i would like to have more confidence on my side. Anyone with any help let me know, im struggling to get my S4 to stage 2.5 but need some experienced advice. thanks a lot

Is your car Automatic or Manual? This is the guide I used

    http://www.audiworld.com/tech/eng43.shtml

No pictures but its pretty straight forward once your under there. Ive put them on an auto and a six speed and the auto def takes more maneuvering out to get them out from under there.

Its a good guide, only I must have pictures when I do stuff like that. Otherwise I have no idea what the hell some things look like.

search under pigges and you'll find some good info. the removal and install is not that bad, i would say if you are working on jacks and have air tools you can get it done in about 8+ hrs, this all depends on how rusted on the downpipes to turbo bolts. I'm in OH and it took about 30mins/bolt (4/side) a bolt and a full can of PB Blaster due to nature of this problem.

Get some ratchet wrenches with flexible heads, this will make it go a lot smoother.

You can also look at the AWE-tuning site, i believe they have a write up for their downpipes.

OKAY, personal experience here.....if you are doing this on jackstands, it will be a weekend project, and I mean ALL DAY sat and sun and the evening of friday if you can manage that as well. Also, you need to remove the tranny mounts if doing it on jackstands, i don't care what other people say, it took me 1.5 days just to get the drivers side DP off and the flange that bolts to the exhaust manifold kept getting caught on heat shields and the tranny mounts....a lift would be ideal

Also, there is no write-ups w/ pics (atleast that i found) when I searched, and I looked really hard b/c I am kinda the same w/ needing pics. You will also need to go rent the O2 sensor tool from autozone or get a crows foot, this tool is essential, and that drivers side front O2 is a BITCH! Oh yea, and a buddy to help is also very very very helpful

    GL and hope this helps.

I did it on jack stands and I did not remove the tranny mounts, so dont be discouraged

Crows foot is definetely neccessary for removing the o2 sensors

Strong second to everything you said, except I did not remove tranny mounts. It took all weekend on jack stands.
