this may be a stupid question but can i take the headlight wire cut it and twist it with the podi gauge wire then drop a lead solder bead on it to get it lit up?? same w a ground??

The only drawback I could think of with this option is that your gauge won't be lit with the park lights on, just when the headlights are.

why do you want to cut them vs just tapping into the proper wires?
