    Slooooow windshield wipers

My (non-aero) wipers worked perfect, but the rubber was coming off, so I put new blades on, and now they just creap across the windshield.

I pulled them up (so they sticking up not touching the windsheild) and they still seem fairly slow.

Is it just a coincedence that the motor died at the exact same time I put new blades on?

    Can I lube something up?

My main form of transportation is my motorcycle, so about the only time I'm in the car is when it's pouring down rain. This sucks!
Upgraded the motor a little, brakes a little more, and suspension a lot.

I had the same problem...from what i remember, Audi needed to lube up a part of the wiper assembly and everything has been fine since..it got so bad at one point that my wipers wouldnt even move..i can check my invoice later today if you want to know what part they lubed.

Yeah, something in the wiper assembly needs lubrication to get them back to normal speed, but I forget what (happened to my previous A4). Known issue. Lubrication is the solution.

    Re: Slooooow windshield wipers

Thanks! Now I really wish I checked this thread this morning when I had freetime! Since the rain's a comin tomorrow.

I still think it's quite the odd coincidence that the motor seized at the exact same time I replaced the blades.

    Re: Slooooow windshield wipers

If only it was that easy. One of my pivots was completely seized, and required hours of PB Blaster and pounding with a hammer... then eventually heavy use of a propane torch. It finally gave in, and I was able to sand, polish, clean, and lube everything and get it all back together again. Now I just need to replace one of the wiper arm nuts that I completely obliterated with the hammer.
